September 2013 CHC Newsletter

24 September 2013
"After all the years of planning and preparation, the Commissioners and I are extremely glad to confirm that, subject to acceptable tender proposals and award of the construction contract, the breakwater build will start in the first quarter of next year with completion expected during 2014," said Capt. Stuart McIntosh, Cowes Harbour Master.

"This is really positive news for the future of Cowes Harbour.

"Making sure that stakeholders are kept fully informed on the breakwater project continues to be a high priority for CHC, and to this end I have recently given presentations to our own Advisory Committee, Cowes Week Limited, and the Solent Forum - as mentioned in the story below. In addition, we will hopefully be presenting a full breakwater update to the Town Councils of Cowes and East Cowes.

"Next month, we will be catching up with our team at Kingston Marine Services and thinking ahead to decommissioning your boat, plus winter storage and the all essential boat maintenance."

Also in the this newsletter from Cowes Harbour Commission is a Cowes breakwater delivery update and timeline, news on a 'Destination Cowes' partnership venture, and plans for next year's Cowes Port Handbook.
