LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS No. 16(T) of 2020

Cowes Harbour Facilities & Services Under COVID-19
14 May 2020

Notice is hereby given that under the current COVID-19 (Coronavirus) restrictions, Cowes Harbour will be providing facilities and services to Cowes Harbour users as described below.

Based upon the latest advice and guidance from the UK Government, Cowes Harbour Commission’s policy is to encourage and facilitate a controlled return to safe, family recreational boating, allowing boat owners to access their boats for day use to and from their local mooring and for maintenance purposes.

CHC continues to maintain our “Open Port policy” and our normal harbour patrols will provide guidance, assistance and policing of our General Directions where required.

All Cowes Harbour facilities and services will be operating with additional control measures designed to protect both staff and the public from exposure to and transmission of the COVID-19 virus. It is vital that everyone respects the measures, including social distancing and hygiene.

Shepards Marina will re-open on Saturday 16th May 2020.

In-line with current government guidance, no overnight, or short stay visitors will be permitted into the marina until further notice.

In consultation with our customers, a strictly controlled Dry Sailing service meeting current COVID-19 restrictions will be provided.

Cowes Yacht Haven will re-open on Saturday 16th May 2020.

In-line with current government guidance, no overnight, or short stay visitors will be permitted into the marina until further notice.

Boat owners, and contractors will be allowed on-site in a strictly controlled manner for everyone’s protection.

Boat lifts, both in, and out of the water will be available upon arrangement with the Marina Office.

East Cowes Marina have also confirmed they will not be permitting overnight or short stay visitors.

Cowes Harbour Services Boatyard will re-open on Monday 18th May 2020.

Boat owners, and contractors will be allowed on-site in a strictly controlled manner for everyone’s protection.

Boat lifts, both in, and out of the water will be available upon arrangement with the boatyard administrator. The boatyard Chandlery will also be open.

Cowes Harbour Water Taxis will resume a limited, and carefully controlled service from Monday 18th May 2020.

The taxi service north of Medina and Kingston Wharfs will be provided by Cowes Harbour Commission, with the taxi service south of this point being provided by Cowes Water Taxis.

The taxi service will operate with a maximum of two customers per taxi trip maintaining social distancing rules.

Cowes Harbour Services Fuel Berth will re-open on Monday 18th May 2020, initially providing a reduced hours service. Boat owners must remain on their boats on arrival and wait to be attended to one customer at a time.
