LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS No. 11(T) of 2021

LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS No. 11(T) of 2021

International Recreational Vessel Arrivals
11 February 2021

(This notice replaces Local Notice to Mariners 37(T) of 2020 which is hereby cancelled)

Notice is hereby given that at the request of the UK Government, mariners’ attention is drawn to the following latest guidance for those arriving at ports in England on recreational vessels from overseas.

Test before travelling to England

Travellers to England from abroad must have proof of a negative COVID-19 test result. Please see the government’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) testing before you travel to England website for full details.

You do not need to take a test if you began your journey to England from: Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Isle of Man, Jersey or Guernsey, Ascension, Falkland Islands, or St Helena.

For further exemptions, e.g. children under 11 years of age, see the Government’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) testing before you travel to England website for further details.

Passenger Locator Form

Travellers must also complete a Passenger Locator Form before travelling to England. Please see the Government’s Fill in Your Passenger Locator Form website.

Self-isolating when you arrive in the UK

Even though a negative test was provided before entering the country, the rules for self-isolating must be followed when arriving in England. All travel corridors have been suspended.

Anyone arriving in the UK will need to self-isolate for 10 days, regardless of their pre-departure test result. Please see the Government's How to self-Isolate when you travel to England website for more information.

Shortening your self-isolation period - Test to Release scheme

The self-isolation period can be shortened if a COVID-19 test is purchased after isolating for 5 days. This is known as the Test to Release for International Travel scheme.

The scheme is not available to anyone who has been in or through any country that is subject to a travel ban in the 10 days before arrival in England.

Please see the Government’s Coronavirus (COVID-19): Test to Release for international travel website for more details.

This Local Notice to Mariners shall remain in force until further notice.
