JOB DESCRIPTION - Summer Season Marina Operative at Cowes Harbour Shepards Marina, Cowes.
The busy marina is looking for someone with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude, who can assist in all aspects of marina operations throughout the summer season. This challenging position requires you to work as part of a close-knit team and as an individual for certain tasks. This is an exciting role for someone who would like to gain more experience in marina organisation, problem solving, customer service and hands on maintenance. The ideal candidate will already have some proven experience in the marine industry but be keen to develop their skills in these areas.

JOB DESCRIPTION - Summer Season Boatyard Operative at Cowes Harbour Services Boatyard, East Cowes.
What is it? This busy boatyard is looking for someone with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude, who can assist in all aspects of boatyard operations throughout the summer. This challenging position requires you to work as part of a close-knit team and as an individual for certain tasks. This is an exciting role for someone who would like to gain more experience in boatyard organisation, problem solving, customer service and hands-on maintenance. The ideal candidate will already have some proven experience in the marine industry but be keen to develop their skills in these areas. Training will be provided, where necessary, in order that the successful candidate can discharge their duties safely and efficiently.

What’s involved? Individuals will be asked to work as part of a team to perform the lifting of boats and general maintenance and boatyard duties. Candidates should have some knowledge of general Health & Safety responsibilities in a boatyard environment. Candidates should be physically fit.

To be included on a 5-day roster as part of the team to cover the following duties as appropriate:
• Working as part of the boatyard lifting team, including lifting operations.
• Assisting with anti-foul and polishing jobs.
• Site and plant housekeeping and maintenance.
• General boatyard operations.
• Site plant maintenance (Crane, vessels and engines, pressure washers, lifting equipment etc).
• To assist in any other way deemed necessary by CHC management.

Outline of position
• Position to be full time and principally based at Cowes Harbour Services Boatyard, East Cowes.
• Contract to cover an approximate period of April to beginning of September.
• Position to be paid on the basis of a 39-hour standard working week.
• Position is responsible to Marine Services Manager.
