LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS No. 11 of 2022

International Recreational Vessel Arrivals

06 January 2022

(This notice replaces Local Notice to Mariners 56 of 2021 which is hereby cancelled)

Notice is hereby given that from 0400, Friday 7th January 2022 new UK Government rules come into effect regarding pre-arrival testing for all international arrivals.

Travel from the rest of the world if you are fully vaccinated or under 18 years old

Before you arrive in England you must:

1. Book and pay for Day 2 COVID-19 test to be taken after arrival
2. Complete your Passenger Locator Form

You can take the test any time after you arrive and before the end of Day 2 at the latest. The day you arrive is Day 0.

From 0400, Sunday 9th January 2022, you can choose to take a lateral flow test instead of a PCR test after you arrive in England.

If you take a lateral flow test and test positive, you will need to self-isolate and take a free PCR test.

To check that you qualify as fully vaccinated, please see the Government’s approved vaccination programme guidance.

Travel from the rest of the world if you are not fully vaccinated

Before you arrive in England you must:

3. Take a pre-departure COVID-19 test and have a negative PCR test result in the 2 days before you travel
4. Book and pay for Day 2 and Day 8 COVID-19 tests to be taken after arrival
5. Complete your Passenger Locator Form

You must take the first test on or before Day 2 and the second test on or after Day 8. The day you arrive is Day 0.

If you are in England for less than 10 days, you need to quarantine for the time you are here. You need to book Day 2 and Day 8 PCR tests. You only need to take the tests if you are still in England on those days.

You may be able to end quarantine early if you pay for a private COVID-19 test through the Test to Release scheme.

For further information, please see the Government’s travelling to England from abroad guidance.

Travel from Red List countries

If you arrive in England from a Red List country, regardless of your vaccination status, you will only be allowed to enter the UK if you are a British or Irish national or have residence rights in the UK. Please see the Government’s Red List rules for guidance on testing and quarantine. For further information, please see the UK Governments international arrivals into England advice for further information.

This local notice to mariners will remain in force until further notice.
