Small Craft Sewage Discharges

Small Craft Sewage Discharges

The water quality of the Medina Estuary is extremely important to Cowes Harbour Commission and CHC is working in partnership with the Isle of Wight Estuaries Project, Environment Agency, RYA and The Green Blue Project to investigate and address water quality issues in the Medina. The work incorporates information on diffuse and point source pollution, some local recording and monitoring, and a campaign to raise awareness of the impact of faecal contamination from both recreational boats and the existing storm water drains as part of the combined sewage system in Cowes and East Cowes.
