The eastern pair of yellow lateral buoys marking the small craft channel have been reported as extinguished; all vessels should navigate in this area with caution.

A works licence has been issued for the extraction and replacement of 5 piles at the Island Sailing Club and the reinstatement of the pontoon units. The operation will be carried out from Jenkins Barge JML35 arriving Cowes 06:00/17th April; the barge is fitted with spud legs and will remain clear of the fairway during the works. Vessels are instructed to transit the area with caution and with minimal wash.
The works is expected to be completed by the 17th of May 2013; this notice will expire upon completion of the operation.
New General Directions will be introduced on the 2nd of April 2013, after being ratified by Cowes Harbour Commission. Where the new General Directions and the harbour Byelaws conflict the General Directions will take precedent.
